Packed full of all the hops, juice and bitterness you'd want from a good, modern pale ale, but with a creamy full body as a result of all those oats. Super tasty and dangerously drinkable.Buy this beer

Starting a brewery in Manchester is no mean feat, stalwarts such as Marble Beers and relative newcomers like Runaway, Track, Shindigger and Cloudwater meant competition was (and still is) fierce in this neck of the woods. This didn’t however, stop Alphabet Brewing from adding their name to that list back in 2014.
Founded in Autumn of that year by old pals Joe, Alex and Dan, Alphabet set out with the mission of producing some of the cities most exciting beers. All three have previous in the brewing industry, as the brains behind the popular Kosmonaut bar that opened its doors back in 2012 in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The success of the bar was evidence of the team’s knowledge of beer and more importantly, how to flog it and soon they were to open a brewery of their own.
After six months of honing recipes, Alphabet Brewing launched, going toe to toe with the aforementioned breweries and doing it in style. Their aim was to create innovative, great-tasting beers using modern styles as well as reinterpretations of old ones. This approach to brewing and the combination of some wacky artwork allowed Alphabet to stand out from the crowd and quickly assert themselves as ones to watch.
The original brewhouse was bought from Buxton Brewery and was used to create Alphabet’s first beer; Space Invader, a pink grapefruit and tarragon saison. This was soon followed by firm favourites like Kerb Kicker and Charlie don’t surf.
Still based at the original site, nestled behind Manchester Piccadilly station, the brewery has expanded significantly in the years that have followed, now producing over 50,000 pints a year. In 2018 Alphabet opened their second taproom in Chorlton, giving more lucky locals the chance to try beers fresh from the brewery.
One original and still most popular beers in the line up is tonight’s beer A to the K. Packed to the rafters with oats for a silky smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel, A to the K is an American oatmeal pale ale with aromas and flavours of tropical fruit and citrus with low bitterness and creamy finish.
