The Beers

ANSPACH & HOBDAY (LONDON), THE SMOKED BROWN (330ml, 6% ABV)

An incredible re-creation of a traditional London beer recipe by one a brilliant new crop of breweries in Bermondsey.

SHINDIGGER BREWING (MANCHESTER), WEST COAST PALE (330ml, 4.7% ABV)

Paul and George have made the transition from brewing in a bucket to commercial brewing look easy. This beer is one of their brilliant takes on an Americal Pale Ale.

BLACK ROCK BREWING (FALMOUTH), BLACK IPA (330ml, 6% ABV)

These young whipper snappers from Cornwall have just started bottling, so you'll be one of the first to sample their wares. This is moody, brooding, prickly little black IPA. We love it.

ORBIT BEERS (LONDON), NEU ALTBIER (330ml, 4.7% ABV)

Classic German beer styles being brewed in East London. What could go wrong? Nothing if this beer is anything to go by.

ATOM BEERS (HULL), DARK ALCHEMY (330ml, 4.9% ABV)

A porter without hops?! Atom Beers have set their stall out with this one. It works you know.

RUNAWAY BREWERY (MANCHESTER), SMOKED PORTER (330ml, 6% ABV)

We can't stop going on about Runaway. Their American Brown Ale was one of our beers of 2014. This smoked porter is maybe even better.

MAD HATTER BREWING (LIVERPOOL), PIMIENTO AND ROSEMARY WIT (330ml, 5% ABV)

Pimiento and Rosemary wit beer?! we hear you cry. It's tastes as good as it sounds. Mad? Maybe. Delicious? Definitely.

FIRST CHOP BREWING ARM (MANCHESTER), AVA (500ml, 3.5% ABV)

How much flavour can you get in to a 3.5% blonde beer? The wonderfully playful Mancunians First Chop have the answer.

DRYGATE BREWING CO (GLASGOW), GLADEYE IPA (500ml, 5.5% ABV)

An experimental craft brewery launched by two big Scottish brewing outfits. Interesting. Let's allow the beer to do the talking. This distinctly British IPA is actually very good.

CHORLTON BREWING CO (MANCHESTER), YAKIMA SOUR (330ml, 6.5% ABV)

Yep, another one from Manchester. Something special is happening up there. Not least at Chorlton who are turning out some stunning sours, this beer being a great example.

WILD CARD BREWERY (LONDON), JACK OF CLUBS (330ml, 4.5% ABV)

Understatedly cool Wild Card are quietly plugging away in East London. Not as loud and brash as other upstarts in the capital, but the beers are just as good... if not better.

WIPER AND TRUE (BRISTOL), MILK SHAKE (500ml, 5% ABV)

These guys look like the full package. After a stint of gypsy brewing, we're so excited about seeing them in their new brewery. This is a brilliant milk stout.
